post kitchen ceiling after a pipe break in Buffalo New York

Broken Pipe affects the ceiling making the drywall split

Sometimes in homes it is unfortunate, but there is a chance that a person may experience some type of situation that damages a home. This customer had not been aware but for quite a few days they had a pipe that had broke up in the bathroom right above the kitchen. The kitchen had drywall on the ceiling. The water had traveled down between the floor on the second floor into the ceiling and the walls on the first floor. The customer contacted SERVPRO and we went to see what the damages were. The crew came to the home when the homeowner was able to have them come. SERVPRO removed the ceiling drywall and set up some drying equipment to dry out the ceiling joists. The customer was so relieved to have SERVPRO get the work done so that she could replace the drywall.

Concrete Dust Clean Up

Unfortunately basement cracks need repair in the concrete to prevent water damage and the masonry dust can spread through your house during repairs.  The dust finds it way through the ventilation duct system or just by air flow.  SERVPRO of Buffalo Tonawanda has been cleaning up for over 47 years.  We are equipped with HEPA filtered vacuums to remove at least 99.97 percent of airborne particles with the addition of an HEPA filtered air scrubber.

Buffalo Fire Damage

Space heaters are often the culprit causing house fires in the Jamestown during the cold months of the year. SERVPRO of Buffalo-Tonawanda advises our neighbors to keep them at least three feet from any flammable material like curtains, on a secure footing, and only on when someone is present. Then fire and smoke damage like the Before Photo can be prevented. Our SERVPRO FSRT fire and smoke restoration technicians have the training, skills, equipment, and products to remove non-salvageable materials and contents and prepare the affected bedroom for the repainting and refurbishing. Odor control is a significant part of this treatment; restoring good indoor air quality minus lingering odors is crucial. We can place air scrubbers, hydroxyl generators, and even under certain conditions, an ozone machine to eliminate smoky odors.

Buffalo Mold Remediation

The slow, steady drip from the washing machine resulted in a damp condition conducive to mold growth in this home. The peculiar odor caught the attention of the homeowner, along with water stains and dark spots appearing on the walls of this utility closet. AMRT applied microbial remediation technicians from SERVPRO of Buffalo-Tonawanda know precisely what to do. The non-salvageable wallboards are removed and discarded according to local and OSHA codes, the leak fixed, and then the clean up of the affected area. We can use abrasives and a small soda blasting tool outfitted with a HEPA filter to capture debris and mold spores to restore the studs as shown in the After Photo. After applying an antifungal agent, the walls are ready to be buttoned up with new sheetrock. Count on us to do it right, the first time.
